Feels great to be moving again. Map...

I left Ganges early this morn, it was cold grey windy. But i benefitted from the tail-wind, much smoother than if i'd been headed into it.

i did have 1 ~scary thing. There were a lot of floating logs. *1* i didnt see til i was right on it, going 17mph. So i turned suddenly to miss it, thereby learning: 1)don't turn suddenly at speed; 2)especially when going downwind with waves. What i should've done was immediately throttled down.

The other scary thing was going thru Dodd Narrows. It's very narrow, but the important thing is the tides up here can be extreme, 10', and at max they can create currents thru narrow spots of (for Dodd) 9 knots. Worse, they accentuate wind waves, and can create things like "rips", "overfalls", "whirlpools" and the like. So in was worried about Dodd. As it turned out, i happened to arrive at a good, slack, time when there wasnt much motion. In fact a fishing boat was parked in the middle of the gap, calmly fishing.

So now i'm in Nanaimo, another lovely Canada city. I got gas, and need to buy more charts here, so i decided to dock overnite. I oredered up a space over the marine radio, he told me where to go ("I"-dock), so i headed to the marina (you can spot 'em way off, all the masts), motored back & forth looking for 'I' dock, couldnt find it, finally called back, sounded like an idiot, it turned out i was at the wrong marina! Embarrassing.

But i finally got docked. The harbor's office, to pay my moorage, is labeled "Wharfinger Office". I'd never heard the term, asked 'em what it means. They said it was what in England they used to call the guys on the dock who caught the lines from arriving sailing ships. Which i thought was really cool. Here's how wikipedia defines it. I am of course the smallest. Historic 'Bastion'. Historic Courthouse.

Looking good Mike. So what happened with the voltage? Was your mechanic dude able to resolve the issue?
