Breakfast at the B&B where i stayed, oddly a really poor breakfast: 2 small-diameter double-thick pancakes, & a strip of bacon. Doubly odd since this hotel shares a building with a real restaurant. Whatever. There was coffee, and a place to sit and do computer stuff.
I attended 3 performances:
- A theatre stage show with singing/dancing/drama portraying the history of Skagway.
- A show in a bar where, besides the acting/singing, they also taught you how to mix up historic drinks (and drink them).
- A tour of an actual historic bar/bordello, heavy with innuendo & double-entendre.
Then the train ride, which could'v been cheesy but again, it was really good. The ride was ~3hrs long (~$129) and went all the way up to alpine White Pass on the Canada border. The railroad line & company is the 1 actually operating since ~1898. Views (and drop-offs) were incredible. What most surprised me is they're running at least 4 long passenger trains, each with 2 or 3 engines, all day long. It's a big operation. (A local guy i talked to said the trains are great cuz they get a lot of tourists out of town for awhile.)
