Ha, some time ago i reported i thot i had a drive unit seal issue because there was water in the engine compartment bilge. Soon later i realized it was just RAIN -- any that falls in the open rear part of the boat drains to the bilge. (In contrast, my sailboat cockpits all had drains. Because sailboats are always getting wet, i guess.)
Last nite i woke and realized all this sitting in ketchikan in continuous rain must be filling the bilge, and indeed, checking this morn, there was like a foot of water in there. (Yes there of course is an electric bilge pump, but i've had the batteries turned off.)
People have been telling me that on such a long trip i should get some maintenance done. So today i finally checked the manual and indeed it's past time. So i called local places, 1 said call the other guy, the other guy said it'll be a week and a half. Boat mechanics are clearly in short supply. Young folks: there's some real high-paying work to be done.

This should work out...you have to wait for your maintenance any way.....might as well do it in the rain! I wish we’d had a few
days in the ports instead of just hours. I could have spent the first 6 hours at the pub watching sea planes. And...sorry we didn’t send our sump pump and long extension cord along....🙃
